The advanced query screen is the most comprehensive search tool in Infolinx.
Note - There is an advanced query screen for each item type. For example, an Infolinx system tracking Charts, Places, Boxes and Users has 4 advanced query pages. One each for Charts, Places, Boxes and Users.
Note - The advanced query is intended for use by users with knowledge of the SQL database language.
To access the advanced query, first click on the type of item you would like to search for in the item type tabs.
Then click on the Query button in the Action Buttons area.
On the advanced query page, choose from the list of fields and operators to build your search.
Here is an example advanced query page:
Each query in Infolinx is defined by its Scope. The scope can be set to System, User or Security Role.
Queries set to the scope of System make them available to anyone with query rights.
Queries set to the scope of User are available to the currently logged in user only.
Queries set to the scope of a Security Role make them available to all members of that role.
After building your query, you may either enter a Query Name and Scope and then click the 'Save' button, or just click the 'Execute' button to execute the search without saving. Previously saved queries may be accessed via the Existing Queries drop down list.
